Collection: Helen Round Collection
OUR STORY
At Helen Round, we craft beautiful hand-made products using ethically sourced materials and traditional techniques, helping people live sustainably.
Our story began in early 2012 at Helen’s kitchen table with a simple vision: to create beautiful products for the home that last. Frustrated by the disposable nature of modern consumerism, Helen set out to create products that not only enhance our homes but also minimise our environmental footprint. Over the years, the business has grown and today we are a fabulous team of 10 people, all driven by the same purpose.
We believe in the power of conscious choices and the positive impact they can have on our planet. Helen has always loved fabrics and printmaking so this, combined with her background in fine art textiles, was the inspiration. Her drawings have a gentle simplicity, which is echoed in the products, the material we use, and in the way be work.
OUR FABRICS
Linen is made from the inner stalk fibres of the flax plant. Every part of the flax plant has traditionally been used to create a worthwhile product; nothing is wasted. Linen is strong, durable and becomes softer and more pliable with every wash, aging like a fine wine. Unlike cotton, linen that has been well cared for can last for many decades. We source all our linen from Europe. The temperate European climate is perfect for growing flax and produces the longest fibres with the least amount of inputs such as fertilisers or pesticides—and all without irrigation.
All our linen is Oeko-Tex® certified, ensuring our linen meets high safety and environmental standards and is free from any harmful substances. Oeko-Tex® certification also fosters transparency and trust within the supply chain and establishes traceability of the material’s journey from raw material through to manufacturing.
Bamboo is a highly renewable resource as it regenerates from its extensive root system after being cut without having to be replanted. It is one of the fastest-growing plants on Earth. Some species grow up to 36 inches per day, which allows for more frequent and sustainable harvesting. Bamboo is high yielding and incredibly versatile, with almost every part of the plant used and very little waste in harvesting or production.
OUR PRODUCTS
Our commitment to sustainability is at the heart of every product we create. We have designed a range of beautiful products that replace things that would otherwise be single use, making it easy and intuitive to live more sustainably.
We carefully select low-impact materials, ensuring that our collections are not only beautiful but also environmentally friendly and made to last. We mainly use linen and bamboo, materials known for their sustainability.
We're working towards creating a world where nothing goes to waste. We craft pieces that stand the test of time, so you can cherish them for years to come. There is very little waste from our production process, and what there is we reuse in other products.
